AIR CONDITIONING OPTIONS
There are several different styles, applications, and options when it comes to air conditioning and heating your home. Homeowners have numerous choices to make when choosing the right air conditioning and/or heating application for their home. Choosing the wrond air conditioning or heating system can not only be a costly mistake, it can leave a homeowner uncomfortable when it counts the most. There's nothing like an air conditioner that doesn't work on a nice, hot
and humid 100 degree day.
Air Conditioning:
"Air Conditioning" is basically a broad term used for the overall industry of heating and cooling a home or office. When someone thinks "air conditioning", they are normally considering the whole realm of heating or cooling the desired building. In addition, HVAC is used quite frequently to describe the air conditioning industry as a whole.
Air Conditioner:
An "air conditioner" is actually a piece of the total air conditioning system. The air conditioner portion of a HVAC system doesn't actually cool the air on the inside of the house. The air conditioner unit removes heat and humidity from the air. The result is cooler air, but the air conditioner is not cooling the air. Humidity is a factor many people fail to consider when evaluating the performance of an air conditioner. The higher the humidity content of the air, the hotter the air will feel. People who live in an area where the humidity is high, will most often have higher air temperatures than those that live in areas with low humidity.
Heat Pumps:
Heat Pumps are another style, or option, of heating and cooling a building. Most Electrical Utility Companies prefer and recommend these due to the efficiency of the equipment.
Furnaces:
There are several different options for heating your home as well. From baseboard heat to electric furnaces, there is a heating method to satisfy almost anyone. Electric
furnaces and Gas furnaces are the most popular methods used today. These type of systems have a duct system that carries the air from the furnace throughout the home
or building.
The field of air conditioning and heating is constantly changing. Technology has advanced as far in the air conditioning and heating industry, as it has in other fields
of trade and construction.
